Titles
Here's the body of work so far...all of it that I can still find. ALL. So, yes, some of the first published stories may be rough around the edges. Others might really hit the spot.
If they're really bad, tell me. If they're really good, tell your friends.

Lucinda received a doll for her birthday from her grandfather. It was like the little sister she never had. "To keep your secrets," he wrote in a note, "and to give you my love." There was something odd about the doll, though. After a pit bull at the end of the road frightens Lucinda, the dog ends up dead under the trailer. The doll is found in Lucinda's bed, covered with blood, dirt, and cobwebs. What is the secret of the strange little homemade doll? Published in June 2016 by Permuted Press Casualties
Through a culmination of violence and terror that has spanned generations, something evil is about to be born on Fort Huachuca, Arizona. The only people who can stop it are Sergeant First Class Chris Williams, who is plagued every night by traumatic memories of his time in Afghanistan, and his wife Molly, a woman who has to confront the idea every day that the man she married is not the same man who came back from war. If you could see a stranger's death coming, would you try to save her? Bud Primrose did, and that's when the real terror began. In Dark Crescent, Bud Primrose, assistant coach of a Little League team, gets smacked in the head with a line drive, then wakes up in the hospital with a sort of second sight. He sees others' deaths hours before they occur. When he uses this strange ability to save a woman from a brutal murder, he becomes the frustrated murderer's next target, and must do everything he can to save himself and the woman he loves from a razor-wielding maniac bent on payback. Published June 2015 by Permuted Press.

"Trick or Treaters"Payback's a bitch.
Now available in Morpheus Tales: The Best Weird Fiction, Volume 2. This volume is full of good stuff, and I'm honored to share a Table of Contents with folks like Ray Garton, Joe R. Lansdale, and many others. Click on the link to get the Kindle version from Amazon. |
"What Friends Are For"The closest thing I've done to a Cthulu-mythos story. The editor almost didn't take it because the title always made him think of that insipid song from the 80s.
In the February 2009 issue of Arkham Tales (DEFUNCT, but the link takes you to a free download of the magazine from the editor, Nathan Shumate) |
Family TraditionMy first standalone novella. Horror stays in the family . . . a trip by Wes and Amy to "meet the folks" includes some very spooky rural denizens who have been subscribing to a magazine for quite a few years, have unusual dietary requirements, and seem to be fond of deadly hijinx, especially at the expense of Wes, the prospective son-in-law. Soon enough Wes discovers the truth about Amy's family . . . but is it already too late?
